BeCalcium Propionate, a white powder or crystal, is odorless and stable to heat and light. Calcium Propionate has slightly smells of Propionic Acid. The melting point of Calcium Propionate is 300 șC. Its water solubility is 1 g/10 ml, appearance. Calcium Propionate is highly hydroscopic, soluble in water (50g/100ml) and insoluble in ethanol and ether. Under the acidic condition, Calcium Propionate generates free Propionic Acid which has antibiotic effect. Calcium Propionate can inhibit growth of some individual molds and bacteria.

Properties:
Calcium Propanoate is used as a preservative in a wide variety of products, including but not limited to bread, other baked goods, processed meat, whey, and other dairy products. In agriculture, Calcium Propanoate is used, amongst other things, to prevent milk fever in cows and as a feed supplement. Calcium Propanoates prevent microbes from producing the energy they need, like benzoates do. However, unlike Benzoates, Calcium Propanoates do not require an acidic environment.

Calcium Propanoate is packed in 25kg white plastic woven bags with the shelf life 18months and should be stared in cool and air place.
