Phosphorous Pentoxide is white crystals with following property: deliquescent, density 0.9g/cm3, mp.580-585℃, sublimation temperature 300℃ and vapor pressure 133.3Pa (384℃). Phosphorous Pentoxide may transform to amorphous from under elevated temperature and pressure. Phosphorous Pentoxide readily absorbs moisture from.

Phosphorous Pentoxide is exothermically hydrolysized by water to yield phosphoric acid.

Use:

Phosphorous Pentoxide is used in synthesis of Phosphorus Oxychloride, Metaphosphoric Acid. Phosphorous Pentoxide is also used in manufacture of Acrylate, surface active agent. Additionally, in refining of drugs and sugar; Phosphorous Pentoxide is used as dehydrating agent, desiccant, antistatic agent; analytical reagent.
