Usage:
Virginiamycin is used in the fuel ethanol industry to prevent microbial contamination.
Virginiamycin is also used in agriculture, specifically in livestock, to accelerate the growth of the animals and to prevent and treat infections. 13 percent of the antibiotics (including
virginiamycin) administered on farms last year were fed to healthy animals to make them grow faster. Antibiotics also save as much as 30 percent in feed costs among young swine, although the savings fade as pigs get older, according to a new USDA study.
Package and Storage:
Virginiamycin is packed in 25kg steel drum.
Virginiamycin should be put -20°C for long term storage
